Various cultural and community events held in Milan and Lombardy

The Milano Mountain Film Festival (MiMoFF) 2017 is scheduled to take place from September 27 to 30 at the Cine Teatro Arca in Milan. Organized by the Associazione Montagna Italia and Associazione Edelweiss, the international festival promotes mountain culture and high-altitude cinema through film and photography competitions. The event features selections from over 100 global productions, including works such as ‘Raining Ropes’ and ‘Garibaldi, Scalate di altri tempi’.

In another regional development, the second edition of the ‘Olimpiadi della terza età’ (Senior Olympics) concluded with an awards ceremony at Palazzo Pirelli in Milan. The event, promoted by the Fondazione Menotti Bassani with support from Fondazione Cariplo, involved over 100 elderly participants from 12 residential care facilities (RSA) in the Varese province. Competitions included adapted sports such as football, basketball, volleyball, bocce, and wheelchair slalom, aimed at promoting health, social connection, and well-being among seniors.
