Philologist, professor, and writer Gloria Lago will deliver a lecture titled ‘El español que no conocemos’ (The Spanish we do not know) in Cartagena. The event, organized by the Asociación Cartagena Siempre, is scheduled for Thursday, October 29, at 19:00 in the Museo del Teatro Romano.

Presented by writer Lola Gutiérrez, the lecture will explore the history of the Spanish language in America and address current controversies regarding its status in Spain. The session aims to examine the evolution, cultural relevance, and modern challenges facing the language.

Lago, a graduate in English Philology and a polyglot, is the president of the Asociación Hablamos Español. Her organization has previously advocated for the Law of Freedom of Language before the Congress of Deputies.
