Various family run events scheduled for 2026 in Indonesia

Two distinct family-oriented running events are planned for 2026 in Indonesia.

The Depok Kids Run Festival 2026 will feature a 2.5K Family Fun Run category. Designed as a recreational and inclusive activity, the event allows parents or adult guardians to run alongside children through urban routes. The festival coincides with World Children's Day and serves as part of Depok's initiative to transform into a sports city ahead of the West Java Provincial Sports Week (Porprov).

In Yogyakarta, Gembira Loka Zoo is organizing GembiRUN Loka 2026, targeting 2,300 participants. Scheduled for November 8, 2026, the event celebrates the zoo's 73rd anniversary by combining exercise with conservation education. The run will feature interactive games within the zoo grounds. A special lottery will allow approximately 200 to 300 adult runners limited access to the forest area to experience conservation activities. Routes will vary between 3km and 4km depending on whether participants enter the forest zone.
