Various fatal accidents and weather damage reported across Mexico
Various incidents involving fatalities, accidents, and severe weather have been reported across several Mexican regions.
In Morelia, Uber clarified that a driver killed during a vehicle robbery in the Lombardo Toledano neighborhood was not registered on their platform. The victim, a man approximately 40 years old, was shot multiple times before his Dodge Attitude was stolen. Authorities are investigating the homicide.
In Torreón, two separate fatal accidents occurred. A woman on a motorcycle died after colliding with a trailer operated by Harinas Elizondo, leaving her companion seriously injured. Additionally, a municipal worker named Jacinto was killed after being accidentally struck by the rear wheels of a Parks and Gardens department vehicle while performing cleaning duties.
In La Piedad, a transit officer was injured during a sobriety checkpoint when a driver allegedly accelerated suddenly, pinning the officer against another vehicle. The driver was taken into custody.
In Uruapan, a severe storm featuring heavy rain, wind, and hail caused significant damage, including fallen trees, flooding, and collapsed structures at a chapel and a primary school. No injuries were reported from the weather event.
