Various regional academic and educational calls announced in Spain

The University of Santiago de Compostela (USC) has opened submissions for the 13th edition of ‘A Ciencia en Imaxe’, a scientific photography competition. Organized by several science faculties and the Real Academia Galega de Ciencias, the contest is open to students, faculty, researchers, and staff. Participants may submit one original, unpublished photograph related to science, with a deadline of November 5. The rules prohibit the use of artificial intelligence, photomontages, or electronic retouching beyond minimal color and brightness adjustments.

In Castilla-La Mancha, the regional government has announced the second edition of the Regional School Debate League for the 2026-2027 academic year. The initiative aims to promote critical thinking, oral expression, and research skills among students. This year’s theme, ‘The new public opinion: who influences what we think, share, and believe?’, will guide discussions. Registration is open from October 26 to November 13, with categories spanning different levels of secondary and high school education.
