Various regional updates on traffic regulations and toll payments

In Costa Rica, the National Council of Roads (Conavi) announced that electronic toll payments via card will be implemented on Route 32 at the Zurquí checkpoint starting next year. This follows requests from Deputy Mangell McLean to modernize the system and reduce delays caused by the current requirement for cash payments.

In Argentina, the National Road Safety Agency (ANSV) approved Disposition 351/2026, which separates the payment for the National Certificate of Traffic Background (CENAT) from traffic fines. While the national mandate decouples these fees on the electronic payment slip, individual municipalities, such as La Plata, retain the authority to require a debt-free status to issue or renew driver's licenses.

In the Dominican Republic, the General Directorate of Transit and Land Transport Security (Digesett) is authorized to fine pedestrians and passengers who violate traffic laws under Law 63-17. Violations, such as failing to use pedestrian crossings or not yielding to emergency vehicles, can result in fines equivalent to one minimum wage, recorded against the individual's identity card.
