Various support initiatives launched for residents and migrant workers in South Korea

In Seoul, Nowon-gu has entered into an agreement with the Nowon branch of the Korea Association of Realtors to reduce the financial burden on residents relocating due to urban redevelopment and reconstruction projects. Under this agreement, residents and tenants in designated areas can receive a reduction of up to 20% on legal brokerage fees when using participating real estate offices.

The program initially targets approximately 3,200 residents in the Wolgye-dong Sin-apartment reconstruction and Sanggye 1 Redevelopment Promotion Zone. The district plans to expand this support to eight additional redevelopment zones, potentially affecting 10,000 people.

Separately, the Korea Workers' Compensation & Welfare Service has donated 8 million won to the Ulsan Foreign Worker Support Center. The funds are intended to provide medical and rehabilitation expenses for migrant workers suffering from industrial accidents, as well as to support their families' integration into the local community. The service also conducted educational sessions regarding industrial accident compensation and wage arrears systems to ensure migrant workers can access legal protections.
