Varna court detains man for methamphetamine distribution
A court in Varna has ordered the detention of a 32-year-old man, identified by the initials P.A., accused of possessing and distributing high-risk narcotics. The individual was apprehended on October 2, 2026, following a methamphetamine transaction conducted from his residence.
Authorities noted that the suspect was already under house arrest related to a separate pre-trial proceeding for the same offense. Additionally, he was serving a three-year probation period following a conviction in May 2025 for a six-month prison sentence. During a search of his apartment, police seized a quantity of methamphetamine, multiple packets containing traces of narcotics, and other items linked to illegal activities.
The court determined that there is a risk the defendant may commit further crimes, justifying the most severe measure of procedural compulsion: pretrial detention. The case remains under the supervision of the Varna District Prosecutor's Office.
