Varna District Court sentences three men to prison for thefts
The Varna District Court has issued several prison sentences following theft incidents in the city. Through court-approved plea agreements, three men received six-month prison sentences under an initial strict regime.
A 40-year-old man from Razgrad was sentenced for stealing food products, including butter, deli meat, and cream cheese, from a supermarket in February. The theft, valued at approximately 115 euros, was observed by another customer. A 32-year-old man from Popovo was sentenced for stealing two bottles of whisky worth about 37 euros from a convenience store in late November 2024. Both individuals were repeat offenders.
Additionally, a 33-year-old man received a six-month prison sentence for stealing a bicycle from a residential building in central Varna between November 30 and December 5. The defendant, a repeat offender, entered the property by preventing a self-locking gate from closing and subsequently sold the bicycle. The stolen item was later recovered and returned to its owner.
