Varna District Court sentences two individuals to prison for theft

The Varna District Court has issued prison sentences to two individuals for separate theft offenses committed under conditions of dangerous recidivism.

A 28-year-old woman from Yambol was sentenced to 10 months in prison following a theft at a shopping mall in Varna. The incident, which occurred in August last year, involved the theft of an electric scooter valued at approximately 650 euros. Security cameras captured the woman taking the device, which she later attempted to pawn through an acquaintance. The court approved a plea agreement, and the sentence will be served under an initial strict regime.

Separately, a 26-year-old man from the Veliko Tarnovo region received a six-month prison sentence for multiple thefts. Between October 2025 and January of this year, the individual stole a purse containing cash and documents, as well as food items and technical products from various locations in Beloslav and Varna. The defendant accepted a plea agreement and was ordered to pay court costs of nearly 300 euros. This sentence will also be served under an initial strict regime.
