Varna Municipal Council to discuss sports vouchers and infrastructure
The Youth Activities and Sports Commission of the Varna Municipal Council is set to review several proposals regarding local sports infrastructure and community incentives. A proposal submitted by the Vazrazhdane political group suggests providing vouchers for individual use of municipal sports facilities to citizens who donate blood. While the concept is on the agenda, specific details regarding voucher value, eligibility, and applicable facilities have not yet been defined.
Additionally, the commission will consider allocating at least 1% of the municipality's total local revenue to directly support sports clubs. Infrastructure proposals include funding for repairs at the Lokomotiv sports complex, the installation of shock-absorbing flooring at the Vladislav Varnenchik sports hall, and cost estimations for projects at the Asparuhovo and Vazrazhdane sports centers.
Further discussions will include updates on the professional street fitness area at the Chaika sports complex and a request for co-financing a petanque school by the Cherno More Petanque Club Varna. These items are scheduled for discussion on October 16, 2026.
