Varna municipality begins mass rodent control program

The Varna municipality has launched a mass autumn-winter deratization campaign to control rodent populations. The program, managed by the municipal enterprise ‘Disinfection, Disinsection and Deratization’, will take place in stages from November 2 to December 31, 2026.

The operation targets 11,339 manholes and 616 decares of greenery across various city districts and municipal areas. The process involves placing anticoagulant-based rodenticides in manholes, rodent burrows, or specialized bait boxes. All treatments will be conducted under strict safety protocols for biocides and will be adjusted based on weather conditions.

Scheduled treatments cover several districts, including Vladislav Varnenchik, Asparuhovo, Odesos, Primorski, and Mladost, as well as various municipal sub-districts and greenery areas.
