Varna Municipality to seal buildings in Baba Alino complex
The Varna Municipality has announced plans to restrict access to and seal several buildings within the ‘Baba Alino’ complex, citing them as illegal constructions. According to Deputy Mayor Plamen Kitipov, an order has been issued to disconnect electricity and water supplies to these properties, which include residential buildings currently occupied by people.
Local utility providers, ViK and ‘Energo-Pro’, are expected to complete the disconnection of services within the week. Following this, the municipality intends to physically seal the buildings, rendering them uninhabitable. The measure is expected to affect one property consisting of approximately six buildings containing multiple individual units.
Residents of the complex have expressed significant distress, arguing that they purchased their homes in good faith using notarized deeds and have consistently paid local taxes and fees. Property owners are questioning how buildings can be declared illegal after years of administrative recognition and tax collection. Residents are currently calling for a meeting with Mayor Blagomir Kotsev to address the situation.
