Varna opens renovated Mihail Koloni High School Dormitory

The renovated Mihail Koloni High School Dormitory in Varna has officially opened following a comprehensive modernization project. Funded by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, this initiative represents the largest renovation of the facility's building stock since its establishment.

The project involved the complete renewal of Blocks A and B, focusing on energy efficiency through thermal insulation, new windows, doors, and updated electrical, plumbing, heating, and ventilation systems. A significant upgrade includes the installation of 10 kW photovoltaic power plants on the roofs for self-consumption.

Student living conditions have been improved with each room now featuring its own private sanitary facility. Additionally, Block A now includes a fitness hall, a concert hall, and new administrative offices. The facility has also been upgraded for accessibility, featuring elevators, dedicated rooms for students with disabilities, and Braille signage throughout the buildings. The dormitory will accommodate 192 students.
