Varun Beverages secures exclusive Mondelez distribution deal in Zimbabwe

Varun Beverages (Zimbabwe) Private Limited has signed an exclusive distribution agreement with Mondelez South Africa. Starting October 1, 2026, the subsidiary will hold exclusive rights to distribute Mondelez’s chocolate, biscuit, candy, and gum products throughout Zimbabwe.

The company intends to utilize its existing distribution network to manage the new confectionery line, and no additional capital expenditure is currently planned specifically for this agreement. This move marks an expansion of Varun Beverages’ portfolio beyond its core beverage business into the fast-moving snacking market.

The partnership aligns with Varun Beverages’ broader strategy to strengthen its presence across Africa. During the first half of 2026, the company reported net capitalized capital expenditure of ₹950 crore (approximately Rs 9.5 billion), which included ₹100 crore (Rs 1 billion) for a snack manufacturing plant in Zimbabwe and ₹400 crore (Rs 4 billion) for market infrastructure.
