Varun Chakravarthy ruled out of India‑Ireland T20 series
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) confirmed that left‑arm spinner Varun Chakravarthy will miss the two‑match T20 series against Ireland scheduled for 26 and 28 June 2026. The injury, sustained during the IPL 2026 season, requires further rehabilitation at the BCCI Centre of Excellence, and no replacement has been announced.
India will field a side captained by Shreyas Iyer, with players such as Ishan Kishan, Abhishek Sharma and Washington Sundar named in the squad. The series follows India's 3‑0 ODI victory over Afghanistan and comes ahead of the upcoming T20 fixtures against Ireland.
Chakravarthy, who has taken 73 wickets in 45 T20 internationals, will be unavailable while his recovery continues.
