Varzim SC reaches final of Póvoa de Varzim Summer Tournament

Varzim SC secured a place in the final of the Torneio de Verão da Póvoa de Varzim after defeating Académico de Viseu 5‑4 in a penalty shoot‑out following a 2‑2 draw in regular time. The match, attended by 1,052 spectators, saw goals from João Couto and Dani Benchi for Varzim and a late equaliser from Clóvis for Académico before the shoot‑out decided the winner. In the other semifinal, Vitória, coached by Tiago Margarido, beat GD Chaves 2‑0, with Margarido stressing the “high demand” and a culture of always winning as the team prepares for the final against Varzim on Sunday.
