Vasaloppet reports record participation in Vasaloppstrippeln 2026

The Vasaloppet has reported record participation for the Vasaloppstrippeln in 2026, with 634 finishers marking a 15 percent increase from the previous year. Female participation in the Vasaloppstrippeln 90 category also saw a significant rise, increasing by over 30 percent compared to last year.

Lina Åhnberg from Uppsala achieved a historic milestone by becoming the first person to complete the Vasaloppstrippeln 90 using a sit-ski, a handcycle, and a wheelchair. She completed the challenge in under 24 hours, with individual times of 8:24:31 for the sit-ski, 6:48:19 for the handcycle, and 8:29:49 for the wheelchair portion from Falun to Mora.

The Vasaloppstrippeln requires participants to complete a skiing event during the winter week, followed by a cycling and running event during the summer week, across distances of 30, 45, or 90 km.
