Vasco and Flamengo agree to 50/50 ticket split for upcoming derby
Vasco da Gama and Flamengo have reached an agreement to divide ticket allocations equally (50/50) for their upcoming Campeonato Brasileiro match at the Nilton Santos Stadium. This decision follows mediation by the Rio de Janeiro State Football Federation (FERJ) and requests from the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF).
Initially, Vasco, acting as the home team, had announced a distribution of 90% of tickets for its own supporters and only 10% for Flamengo fans. The impasse led to a temporary suspension of ticket sales. Under the new arrangement, Flamengo supporters will occupy the East and South sectors, while Vasco fans will be located in the West and North sectors.
Vasco stated that the decision reflects a commitment to institutional dialogue and the preservation of Rio de Janeiro's footballing traditions. The club noted that while it will continue to defend its interests firmly, it recognizes the importance of collective responsibility within Brazilian football. Fans who previously purchased tickets for sectors subject to reallocation will receive guidance or refunds for price differences.
