Vasco avoids transfer ban through debt installment payment

Vasco da Gama has avoided an imminent transfer ban by paying a scheduled installment of a collective debt repayment plan approved by the National Chamber of Dispute Resolution (CNRD), an organ of the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF). To facilitate this payment, the club secured a loan of approximately R$ 5 million from Almirante Participações, a company owned by Marcos Lamacchia.

The club is currently managing total debts exceeding R$ 110 million across three collective plans. Under the established agreement, Vasco is committed to annual payments of R$ 15 million and must allocate 10% of its gross revenue from CBF and Conmebol competitions toward debt amortization. The debt values are subject to annual adjustments based on the IPCA index.

Despite this payment, the club's financial situation remains delicate. Vasco is currently awaiting judicial authorization to access R$ 150 million in DIP loan funds. Additionally, creditors have raised concerns regarding the club's budgetary transparency and the economic viability of its repayment model.
