Vasco da Gama defeats Olimpia 4-1 to reach Copa Sudamericana quarter-finals

Vasco da Gama advanced to the Copa Sudamericana quarter-finals after defeating Olimpia 4-1 at the Estadio Defensores del Chaco in Asunción. Despite Olimpia taking an early lead through a long-distance goal by Esteban Matus in the 15th minute, the Brazilian side responded with a decisive comeback.

Thiago Mendes equalized in the 29th minute, followed by a goal from David before halftime to give Vasco a 2-1 lead. In the second half, Adson and Claudio Spinelli scored to finalize the rout. The victory follows a scoreless draw in the first leg held in Rio de Janeiro. Vasco da Gama will now face the winner of the series between River Plate and Independiente Santa Fe in the next round.
