Vasco SAF President Pedrinho Removed as Court Takes Over Club

A Rio de Janeiro court ordered the removal of Vasco SAF president Pedro Paulo de Oliveira (known as Pedrinho) and other members of the club's administrative council, appointing the lawyer Samantha Mendes Longo as judicial manager of the football company.

The judge ruled that the intervention does not block player acquisitions, but all transfer negotiations must now be submitted to the judicial manager for approval. Vasco continues talks on several deals, including a potential loan‑to‑buy arrangement for midfielder Deossa with Spain's Real Betis, valued at €8‑11 million.

The supporters’ group Malta do Vasco released a statement expressing deep concern over the president’s ouster, calling for full transparency, defending the club’s autonomy and opposing any sale of the SAF to 777 Partners.

Lawyer Eduardo Rodrigues Torres filed a petition to join the case as a third party, arguing the original decision lacked due process and requesting the court reconsider the removal while the dispute over control of the SAF proceeds.
