Vasco da Gama open to negotiating striker Brenner with MLS clubs
Brazilian club Vasco da Gama said it will consider offers for forward Brenner, who recently turned down a loan proposal from Major League Soccer side Columbus Crew. While the club wants the best deal, it prefers a permanent transfer or a loan that includes an obligation to purchase.
MLS clubs, led by Columbus Crew, continue to monitor Brenner, a player who has impressed in the United States with past spells at Cincinnati FC. At Vasco, Brenner has made 26 appearances, scoring three goals and providing one assist, rotating between starting and reserve roles and competing with teammate Spinelli. He missed a recent match due to viral gastroenteritis, and his confidence has been affected by an unsettled start and the recent dismissal of coach Fernando Diniz. Vasco remains focused on strengthening its attack during the current transfer window and will not block a suitable offer for Brenner.
