Vasco and Atlético-MG announce new player signings
Brazilian football clubs are actively managing squad changes during the current transfer window. Vasco da Gama has officially presented two new Argentine signings: attacker Facundo Colidio from River Plate and midfielder Santiago Sosa from Racing. Colidio, who has previously played for Inter Milan, signed a contract until 2029, while Sosa signed a four-year deal. Both players are expected to be available for upcoming matches, including a critical fixture against Santos. Additionally, Vasco is actively seeking a new center-forward from abroad to bolster its scoring capabilities, and the club is monitoring interest in Colombian midfielder Nelson Deossa.
In a separate move, Atlético Mineiro has announced the signing of Colombian midfielder Kevin Castaño on a one-year loan from River Plate, which includes an option to purchase 50% of his rights for $5 million. Castaño, a 25-year-old who participated in the 2026 World Cup, is the fourth major reinforcement for the club this window.
Regarding legal matters, a Rio de Janeiro court has ruled that Vasco SAF can proceed with player signings without requiring prior judicial authorization for every individual negotiation, provided the club maintains an informative communication process with the court during its judicial recovery process.
