Vasco defeats Sampaio Corrêa in beach soccer friendly

Vasco da Gama defeated Sampaio Corrêa in a penalty shootout during their second beach soccer friendly match held in Carolina, Maranhão. Following a 2-2 draw in regulation and extra time, Vasco secured an 8-7 victory on penalties.

These friendly matches serve as preparation for both teams ahead of the Supercopa do Brasil de Beach Soccer, scheduled for September in Ceilândia. Sampaio Corrêa, the current Supercopa champion, is undergoing squad restructuring and aims to secure a spot in the upcoming Libertadores de Beach Soccer in December.

Vasco, the reigning Libertadores champion, is using these matches and the Supercopa to evaluate its roster for future international competitions. In their first friendly encounter, Sampaio Corrêa won 6-5 after extra time.
