Vasco negotiates for Goiás midfielder Lucas Rodrigues

Vasco has entered negotiations with Goiás to sign 19-year-old defensive midfielder Lucas Rodrigues, targeting his inclusion in the squad for 2027. Discussions between the Rio de Janeiro club and the Goiano side have been ongoing for over a month, with Vasco officials expressing optimism regarding the transfer.

Lucas Rodrigues, a standout performer in the Série B and a member of the Brazil U-20 national team, has recorded six goals and one assist in 33 matches during the 2026 season. While Vasco reportedly made an initial approach of 3.5 million euros (approximately R$ 21.3 million), Goiás has indicated they are seeking a minimum of 7 million euros (approximately R$ 42.6 million) to facilitate a sale.

Despite facing financial challenges and cash flow issues, Goiás management maintains they will not accept low offers for the player. The transfer remains dependent on a final financial agreement between the two clubs.
