Vasco may relocate home matches if advancing to Sul-Americana semifinals

Vasco da Gama may be required to move its home matches from São Januário if the club advances to the semifinals of the Copa Sul-Americana. Conmebol regulations mandate a minimum stadium capacity of 30,000 for matches starting from the semifinal stage, whereas São Januário holds just over 21,000 spectators.

The need for a venue change depends on Vasco eliminating Independiente Santa Fe in the quarterfinals. Following a 0-0 draw in Bogotá, the teams face a decisive second leg at São Januário. If Vasco progresses, the club will evaluate alternative venues such as Nilton Santos or Maracanã, though recent difficulties obtaining authorization for Maracanã have been noted.

While Conmebol allows for exceptions in "exceptional circumstances" upon formal request, the club is already considering alternatives to ensure compliance with tournament standards.
