Vasco plans more physical squad for 2027 season

The Vasco board, in coordination with the new SAF, is planning for the 2027 season with a focus on changing the profile of player recruitment. The priority is to acquire athletes who possess both technical quality and higher physical capacity to handle the intensity of the Brazilian football calendar.

This strategic shift follows evaluations from previous coaches, including Fernando Diniz, Renato Gaúcho, and Pedro Emanuel, who noted an imbalance in the squad regarding the ability to maintain performance levels during heavy match sequences. The goal is to build a group capable of competing at a high level throughout the entire season without losing competitiveness in the final stages of competitions.
