Vasco Rossi awarded honorary doctorate by University of Salerno

The University of Salerno has announced that singer-songwriter Vasco Rossi will be awarded an honorary doctorate (Honoris Causa) in Politics and Communication. This marks the first time an Italian public university has granted him such a title.

University Rector Virgilio D’Antonio stated that the recognition acknowledges Rossi’s ability to not only interpret his era but also to define its languages, imaginaries, and forms of social relationship. The university highlighted his forty-year career as a cultural and communicative phenomenon capable of bridging different generations.

The official ceremony is scheduled for October 7 at the Vincenzo Buonocore Aula Magna on the Fisciano campus. During the event, Rossi will wear academic robes and deliver a keynote lecture to the university community.
