Vasco Rossi undergoes successful lumbar decompression surgery

Italian rock singer Vasco Rossi underwent a scheduled lumbar decompression surgery on Tuesday, September 15, to address persistent back pain. Following the procedure, the 74-year-old artist reassured fans via social media, stating, “The operation was perfectly successful and I am already on my feet.”

According to his staff, the singer is expected to be discharged from the clinic by the end of the week. Rossi noted that he will require a few days of convalescence, jokingly remarking that his biggest challenge would be boredom during his recovery.

The surgery was intended to treat spinal stenosis, a condition where the space for the spinal cord and nerve roots narrows. This procedure does not appear to impact his upcoming professional commitments, as his recent stadium concert season has concluded. Rossi is currently scheduled for a series of ten concerts at Rome's Stadio Olimpico in June 2027 to celebrate his 50-year career.
