Vasco SAF faces increased judicial oversight and audit

A judge from the 4th Business Court of Rio de Janeiro has approved the appointment of ICTS Global to conduct a judicial audit of Vasco SAF. The audit is designed to examine governance procedures, internal controls, investment approval flows, player acquisition and negotiation operations, and decision-making processes related to judicial recovery.

As part of the ruling, the auditor must present a preliminary report within 15 days, including investment approval flows, a draft for future accountability of investments exceeding R$ 5.9 million, and a three-month cash flow projection. A significant restriction has been placed on new debt: no new indebtedness exceeding R$ 5.9 million will be permitted until these preliminary reports are submitted. The court clarified that this restriction distinguishes between general debt and specific financial or sporting investments, such as player signings.

The decision reinforces the court's power to implement administrative corrections and strengthen governance through independent audits and compliance measures without necessarily removing current management.
