Vashu Bhagnani hospitalised in London amid Income Tax probe

Veteran Bollywood producer Vashu Bhagnani has been hospitalised in London following a series of searches conducted by the Income Tax Department in Mumbai. The exact cause of his hospitalisation and his current medical condition have not been disclosed. When contacted by news agency ANI, Bhagnani requested privacy and stated he wished to be left “alone”.

The medical emergency follows an investigation into alleged financial irregularities involving film funding. Tax authorities reportedly searched 12 locations in Mumbai linked to Bhagnani, his daughter-in-law and actress Rakul Preet Singh, and Panorama Studios. The probe is focused on suspected improper overseas financial transactions and the movement of funds abroad for film production and distribution.

Bhagnani is the founder of Pooja Entertainment, a prominent production house established in 1995. While authorities are examining financial records and documents related to these transactions, no official findings of tax violations have been publicly announced.
