Vasilis Kikilias discusses port infrastructure in Kavala and Thassos
Greek Minister of Maritime Affairs and Insular Policy, Vasilis Kikilias, visited Kavala to discuss the development of maritime infrastructure in the Kavala, Keramoti, and Thassos regions. The Minister emphasized that Eastern Macedonia and Thrace serve as a vital gateway for the country, highlighting its importance in tourism, fishing, and energy.
Kikilias stated that the Ministry aims to support regional growth by completing necessary reforms and infrastructure projects. He noted that the government will collaborate with other ministries, such as the Ministry of Energy and Environment, to overcome obstacles and find legal, viable solutions for critical infrastructure.
The Minister also prioritized security and service quality, noting that over two million travelers visit the Thassos area, which is connected via Keramoti and Kavala. He assured that development would be conducted in an organized manner that respects local residents, islanders, and tourists.
