Vasiliy Lomachenko announces return to boxing

Ukrainian boxer Vasiliy Lomachenko has announced his return to professional boxing, ending his retirement to compete in the super featherweight (130-pound) division.

Lomachenko stated his intention to target the undisputed status in the weight class, specifically eyeing a potential bout against the winner of the Emanuel Navarrete and O'Shaquie Foster matchup. He noted that the 135-pound division was not his natural weight, which influenced his previous decision to step away from the sport.

The 38-year-old fighter, who last competed in May 2024 by defeating George Kambosos Jr., acknowledged the challenges of returning to the ring at his age but expressed optimism regarding his current preparation.
