Vasillis Spanoulis appointed head coach of Greek basketball club Aris

Vasillis Spanoulis was introduced on 15 June as the new head coach of Aris Thessaloniki basketball team. In his first press briefing he emphasized his motivation to “build a team that is not a fire‑work display” and highlighted the club’s historic legacy.

Spanoulis said he likes opportunities “to build from the ground up” and stressed the need for discipline, consistency and long‑term planning. He thanked owner Nikos Zisis for his role in the appointment and pledged to let actions speak louder than words, aiming to create “solid foundations” for the team’s future success.
