Vaslui City Hall seeks land for new cemetery
The Vaslui City Hall is seeking approval from local councilors to restart a public tender for the acquisition of land to establish a new cemetery. The municipality aims to purchase between 4 and 7 hectares of land that meets specific technical requirements, including access to public roads, a slope of no more than 3%, and a groundwater level below 3.5 meters.
To comply with environmental regulations, the land must be located at least 100 meters away from residential areas, though updated specifications allow the funerary complex itself to be closer, provided the burial plots maintain the required distance. This initiative follows previous failed attempts to acquire land through direct purchase and a June tender where all bids were declared non-compliant. The project addresses a long-standing shortage of burial spaces in the municipality.
