Vaslui residents to receive blood glucose testing at Catena pharmacy

The Vaslui County Public Health Directorate (DSP Vaslui) has announced a blood glucose testing initiative to promote diabetes prevention and raise awareness regarding the rising incidence of the disease.

The testing event will take place on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, between 08:00 and 10:00 at the Catena pharmacy located on Traian Street in Vaslui. Residents interested in participating can make appointments via telephone.

DSP Vaslui emphasized that diabetes is a group of metabolic diseases characterized by hyperglycemia, occurring when the body does not produce enough insulin or cannot use it effectively. Health officials warned that untreated diabetes can lead to severe chronic complications, including vascular diseases such as stroke and heart attack, diabetic retinopathy, neuropathy, kidney disease, and skin infections or ulcerations.
