Vaso Tsarouha provides testimony in Greek basketball investigation

Vaso Tsarouha, a member of the Central Referees Committee, has provided her testimony to investigators regarding an ongoing probe into Greek basketball. During her questioning, Tsarouha claimed that certain individuals may be motivated by personal vendettas against her.

Addressing specific allegations involving witness Vangelis Tsapa and a stay at Costa Navarino, Tsarouha stated she had no personal relationship with Tsapa and denied any improper influence. She explained that while she asked Tsapa to make a reservation due to lack of availability, she intended to pay for the room herself. She noted that upon arrival, she was informed the bill had already been settled, and despite her attempts to reimburse him, Tsapa refused to disclose the amount paid.

Following the testimonies of Tsarouha, Elias Koromilas, and Tasos Piloidis, investigators are set to consult with the prosecutor to determine whether the individuals will be detained or released under certain conditions. This investigation follows the prior detention of Vangelis Liolios, Giorgos Mavraganis, and Petros Papapetrou.
