Vasto police arrest foreign tourist on German arrest warrant

Police in Vasto, Italy, have arrested a foreign tourist who was the subject of a European Arrest Warrant issued by German authorities for drug-related offenses.

Following a report regarding a guest at a local hotel, officers identified the individual and confirmed his identity through fingerprint matching in the police database. After coordinating with the International Police Cooperation Service in Rome and the Court of Appeal of L’Aquila, the man was taken into custody. He is currently being held at the Vasto prison pending extradition proceedings.
