Vatican cancels public release of Amoris Laetitia summit report

The Vatican has announced the cancellation of the public release of the final synthesis report from the Amoris Laetitia summit, which marked the tenth anniversary of the apostolic exhortation. The decision was communicated by Cardinal Kevin Farrell and Cardinal Mario Grech following the unexpected hospitalization of Pope Leo XIV.

While the report will no longer be made accessible to the Catholic faithful, it will still be presented and discussed privately among assembly members. Once Pope Leo XIV has completed his medical recovery, organizers intend to present him with a comprehensive private dossier. This confidential package will include the full text of all individual interventions, the synthesis report, the outcomes of the final plenary session, and detailed reports from the 16 small-group sessions.

The summit concluded with a final mass presided over by Cardinal Luis Antonio Tagle, acting on behalf of the Pope. During the service, Cardinal Tagle also formally confirmed the communion of the Roman Bishop with the Chaldean Patriarch of Baghdad, Polis III Nona.
