Vatican: Pope Benedict XVI ordains six new bishops

During a ceremony at the Vatican Basilica on September 29, 2007, Pope Benedict XVI presided over the episcopal ordination of six new bishops. The event coincided with the feast of the three Archangels: Michael, Gabriel, and Raphael.

In his homily, the Pope reflected on the nature of angels as beings oriented toward God and acting as divine messengers who bridge the gap between heaven and earth. He encouraged the faithful to act as 'angels' for one another by guiding others away from error and toward spiritual truth.
