Rijeka hosts Croatian State Finals of Plazma Youth Sports Games

The 30th edition of the Plazma Sports Games for youth concluded with its state finals in Rijeka, marking the city’s fifth consecutive hosting of the event. Thirty‑six border‑guard teams competed in 48 matches across two sessions, with the programme shifted indoors due to strong winds.

The team "Vatreni topovi" from Prelog captured the gold and will represent Croatia at the international finals in Split. "Cekači" from Koprivnica earned silver, while the "Dream Team" from Rovinj took bronze. In the athletics component, Sara Žarak (Gospić) and Tom Kotenko (Šiška) repeated their 2024 national titles in the 60‑metre sprint.

Rijeka‑based swimmer Maša Nekić secured third place in her event, guaranteeing a spot in the international finals in Split. The competition featured athletes born in 2015 and younger, emphasizing inclusion and fair play across both border‑guard and track events.
