Vattenfall InCharge and WEX announce major EV charging network expansions
Vattenfall InCharge and telematics provider WirelessCar completed a pilot of a cloud‑based seamless‑charging service that automatically authenticates and bills EV drivers without apps or RFID cards. The trial involved more than 700 Volvo and Tesla vehicles across public AC and DC chargers in Sweden, the Netherlands and Germany, with commercial rollout slated for the coming autumn and winter on Vattenfall’s network of over 40,000 stations.
WEX broadened its EV charging portfolio by integrating three new partners: Greenlane, which operates a large public fast‑charging hub for medium‑ and heavy‑duty fleets in California and plans to expand into Nevada, Arizona and Texas; Synop, a software platform that links over 900 commercial depots across North America and Europe; and QuickCharge by Integra Energy, an AI‑enabled cloud platform that adds real‑time visibility and payment integration for fleet operators. The additions aim to simplify payment and increase charging access for commercial fleets worldwide.
