Vaudreuil-Soulanges launches maple syrup tubing recycling program
The MRC de Vaudreuil-Soulanges has announced the third annual recovery program for used maple syrup tubing. From October 12 to November 6, the ecocentre in Rigaud will accept these materials during regular operating hours.
To participate, producers must ensure the tubing is clean and free of paint or other contaminants. Metal pins and related hardware must be removed, and master pipes must be separated from 5/16 tubes. Plastic fittings and blowtorches are also accepted. The collection is free, though items may be refused if not properly prepared.
In collaboration with AgriRÉCUP, a non-profit organization recognized by RECYC-QUÉBEC, the initiative aims to reduce plastic waste in landfills. Once collected, the tubing will be repurposed into products such as agricultural drains, plastic containers, mats, park accessories, and tree supports.
