Vazrazhdane party positions itself as key factor for Bulgarian presidential runoff

Following the first round of the Bulgarian presidential elections, the Vazrazhdane party held its first press conference to address the results. The presidential ticket of Kostadin Kostadinov and Petar Volgin secured third place, receiving approximately 12.5% to 13% of the vote.

Party leader Kostadin Kostadinov stated that the outcome of the runoff election, scheduled for November 1, will depend significantly on Vazrazhdane voters. While he did not name a specific candidate for the party to support, he emphasized that the party has become a major political factor in Bulgaria. Kostadinov also noted a crisis within the country's political elite and expressed concern over low voter turnout.

In the first round, Iliana Yotova and Andrey Gurov advanced to the runoff with 34.8% and 32% of the vote, respectively. The Vazrazhdane party reported a significant increase in support compared to previous elections, rising from 3.9% in the last presidential vote.
