VÚB Banka to update mobile banking app with new interface and security features

VÚB Banka is rolling out a major update to its mobile banking application, VÚB Banking, starting in October. The update introduces a significant visual redesign, transitioning the interface from orange to a green home screen.

The new interface will allow users to view account balances, recent transactions, and product overviews more clearly. Users can also customize their experience by selecting up to five favorite functions for immediate access upon login. Additionally, the bank is unifying domestic and foreign payment forms to simplify the transfer process.

To enhance security, the update includes the expansion of single-use virtual cards linked to debit cards, which aims to reduce risks during online shopping.

The bank will implement a phased rollout to mitigate technical risks. Initially, the update will be released to approximately 1% of the roughly 615,000 mobile app users, followed by a 5% group, before a full release. VÚB has advised customers to be cautious of phishing attempts, noting that the distinct change in color is intended to help users distinguish the official app from fraudulent ones.
