Václav Burian Prize to feature five Central European poets
The Václav Burian Prize is entering its eleventh year, featuring a program that begins on October 2 in Olomouc. The event will open with the LYRIC&LOCKDOWN exhibition by photographer Petr Palarčík at the Olomouc Museum of Art, which reflects on the period of the pandemic.
Following the exhibition, five poets from the Central European region will present their work through original readings accompanied by artistic translations. The nominees include Viktória Citráková (Slovakia), Mátyás Dunajcsik (Hungary), Jonáš Hájek (Czech Republic), Odile Kennel (Germany), and Antonina Tosiek (Poland). A professional jury, including Zofia Bałdyga, Michal Habaj, Sabine Voda Eschgfäller, and Robert Svoboda, will participate in a discussion regarding the state of contemporary Central European poetry.
