Václav Dejčmar sparks controversy over elderly voting rights
Entrepreneur and investor Václav Dejčmar has sparked controversy following comments made during a podcast regarding aging, AI, and the future. Dejčmar proposed that the voting age should be adjusted, suggesting that just as young people cannot vote for their first 18 years, elderly citizens should not vote during the last 18 years of their lives, based on average life expectancy.
He further suggested that seniors should only be entitled to pensions if they pass certain examinations and expressed views regarding the role of elderly citizens in society, which have drawn criticism from advocates for senior rights.
