Víctor Coyote, Spanish musician and artist, dies in bicycle accident

Víctor Coyote, the multidisciplinary Spanish artist known as Víctor Aparicio Abundancia, has passed away at the age of 67 or 68 following a bicycle accident in Segovia. He was a prominent figure of the Madrid Movida scene and a pioneer in fusing rock and punk with Latin American rhythms through his band, Los Coyotes, founded in 1979.

Beyond his musical contributions, including hits like ‘Esta noche me voy a bailar’, Coyote had an extensive career as a graphic designer, comic book illustrator, writer, and audiovisual director. His work spanned various media, from designing album covers to directing music videos and contributing to the cultural landscape of Galicia and Madrid.

His death has drawn tributes from the cultural community, including the municipality of Tui, his birthplace, and the Viñetas desde o Atlántico International Comic Salon, which expressed deep sorrow over the loss of a versatile and humble professional.
