Víctor de Aldama accused of fabricating shooting claim

The Civil Guard's Central Operating Unit (UCO) has reported that businessman Víctor de Aldama allegedly misrepresented damage to his vehicle to suggest he had been shot. According to a report sent to National Court judge Santiago Pedraz, the incident involving an Audi A8 occurred on September 28, 2024.

Investigators found that while Aldama's defense later claimed the vehicle had been hit by three gunshots to increase his perceived threat level, private messages suggest he was uncertain of the cause at the time. The UCO noted that Aldama sent images of the damaged window to associates, questioning whether the damage was caused by a blunt object, such as a hammer, or small-caliber gunfire, stating, “we can already have the story we needed.”

The investigation is part of the ongoing “hydrocarbons case” (caso hidrocarburos) currently being overseen by the National Court.
